Honestly we probably just need to stop using ourĬurrent All in One HP printers in our offices and get a different brand. Is a golden rule: Do not ever share network connected printer in environment But the reason why we share them despite being onĪ network is because the Free version of Papercut uses network sharing to log they're NOT shared from a USB, they are plugged HP Officejet Pro 8630 e-All-in-One PrinterĪllow me to dissect this into several distinctive parts. HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer Hello Laz14, here is feedback from our consultant: After 3 days of messing with this, I decided to just keep my printer security groups as they are and to hell with tracking those HP's and I've made a recommendation to not ever purchase at least this model of HP printers ever again, by the way these are the HP Officejet Pro 86. Outside of that we don't have additional support." It really upset me because every other printer here and at any other company that I've worked for I've never had this issue. All HP said was, "is a hit or miss with printer sharing, we don't support this feature, all we support is whether the printer prints with our drivers or not. But nope, even when the original install used their factory software, it still prints out the extra blank page. I thought it could've been a firmware issue, or driver. I already called and spoke with HP about this, and the issue that we have is that when we share these printers whether their on a server or on a simple computer without a domain, the recipient computer when they print, the document comes out and about 30-45 seconds letter a blank page comes out. Honestly we probably just need to stop using our current All in One HP printers in our offices and get a different brand. Unfortunately my organization wants the tracking features that the Free version already offers without wanting to pay for PaperCut NG and utilize the additional Papercut features. I do see that Papercut does have an additional add on to track PC's with IP printers but this is on their paid version.
